● Features

Potassium silicofluoride, white crystal or powder, odorless and tasteless, with a specific gravity of 2.27, is a hygroscopic substance. It is almost insoluble in cold water, insoluble in liquid ammonia and alcohol, but soluble in hydrochloric acid. When heated, it decomposes into potassium fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride. In hot water, it dissolves and decomposes into potassium fluoride, hydrogen fluoride, and silicic acid. Its aqueous solution exhibits acidic characteristics, with a pH value of about 3.4 for a 1% aqueous solution.
